Brilliant Pigment Review by Natey

I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase. Like other reviewers, I have tried other Lapis pigments from various suppliers, but this is by far the best I've found. Granted, I haven't shelled out for the most expensive offers out there, but this is really a gorgeous vibrant blue. The price is also considerably lower than most other suppliers. Even having it shipped to California was inexpensive and remarkably quick. (Posted on 24/08/2021)

Never before, in my experimentation with pigments, have I ever indulged so much in painting blue. This is truly a hypnotic pigment and it is no suprise that it was traditionally reserved for royalty and the sacred. For this price, lapis certainly worth a try. 100g of pigment mulls approximately to (at least) 90ml of oil paint. A massive thanks to Cornelissen. (Posted on 04/04/2021)
Better than many other similar products for less Review by Nicky T.

I have used a variety of Lapis paints from various manufacturers in my roughly ten years of paint-making experience, and Cornelissen's is more luminous and clear than any of the others. I didn't get into any of the boutique "Fra Angelico Lapis" pigments originating from Afghanistan, which are available at other suppliers, but for a Chilean Lapis, this variety is gorgeous. Who's to say the South American Lapis isn't as good as Afghanistan Lapis anyway? I'm sure that Renaissance painters might have enjoyed using it if they had known of the Chilean source at that time. There is a bit of voodoo surrounding Lapis, but my feeling is this: if a paint is beautiful and fun to work with, it is doing its job. Thank you, Cornelissen, for considering the slender wallets of working painters without sacrificing quality. (Posted on 09/10/2011)
