Raw Umber Greenish Pigment

Well this pigment was a pleasant surprise. I was quite sceptical about it’s having any greenish tinge once it arrived and I looked in the jar, once I mixed it with casein I was even less convinced by the brown sludge I’d made … but I painted my sample board and was delighted to see it dry as a really dark, earthy green colour.
Nor quite Percy’s ‘purest green’ but a fascinating colour and fantastic value.
